OFW Dependent Scholarship Program

As Posted in OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Association) Website herewith I am Posting the Procedure to Avail Scholarship for OFW Dependents in Article Version Since the Post was Shown as PDF.

The OFWDSP is an educational assistance to qualified dependent of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who intend to pursue any four year or five year baccalaureate degree or associated degree in state college or university. A total of 204 annual scholarship slots are distributed in seventeen (17) cities of the National Capital Region.

Required Documents

The Documentary requirements for submission are:

1. Proof or OWWA membership of the member-OFW
  • Membership Verification Sheet issued by OWWA Membership Processing Center (MPC),
  • or Official Receipt of OWWA Contribution.
2. Proof of Relationship to OWWA Member
  • Birth Certificate of Applicant certified by the Local Civil Registrat or the NCSO (if the applicant is the brother or sister of the member OFW)
3. School Records
  • Form 137
  • Transcript of Records
4. Certificate of Good Moral Character issued by the School Principal/Guidance Counselor
5. Medical Certificate/Clearance issued by hospital accredited by BOH
6. Two (2) Copies of 2x2 Photo (Colored)

Filing of Application
Interested applicant may file his/her application from Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM at the OWWA Regional Welfaer Office - National Capital Region, 2nd Floor, Room 202, OWWA Center, 7th Street, Corner F.B. Harrison, Pasay City, For Details call at telephone 891-76-01 local 5219 or 832-12-68

Qualified Beneficiaries of the Program

Legal Dependent of an OWWA active member-OFW whos monthly salary is US $400.00 or below can avail of the program. The OFW legal dependent refers to only (1) child married or single OFW; or only one (1) sibling (brother or sister).

The Qualified legal dependent must be single and not more than 21 years old at the time of application. He/she must be a high school graduat or about to graduate from high school, and physically, mentally, and morally fit. He/She must pass the entrance examination conducted by state college/university in the National Capital Region (NCR).
